Ecclesiastes 5:8
[8]If you see the oppression of the poor and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in the state or province, do not marvel at the matter. [Be sure that there are those who will attend to it] for a higher [official] than the high is observing, and higher ones are over them.

God is higher than the high!
The systems that run the world are highly manipulative; everyone wants to make it to the top whether by exploitation or violence or ritualistic sacrifices. The phrase; “One Man for Himself and God for Us All” is chanted all around. Selfishness, greed, corruption, lack of self control, deceit, indecency, ill-thoughts, scandals and malice run the day.
Sometimes we find ourselves asking, where is God when all of this is happening? Don’t the evil ever get punished?
The word of God reassures us today, that there is a higher authority than the highs of this world and He puts all men’s actions to book so that one day, each will face the consequences of their actions!
The poor will not always be poor, the weak will.not always be weak, the rich and proud will not always prevail. God is not a respecter of persons and so everyone who violates His principles meets his own consequences.
How sad it will be on the day of the Lord’s vengeance, when He will stand in for His oppressed people!
God loves His people, even if we don’t. For every reason we have to hate them, God has a lot more reasons to love them.
There is a higher authority that rewards those who love, care, help, give, sponsor, aid and uplift.
